Six insurers approached for every drone policy
A broker works for the client. That status lets us consult several insurers on the same file, set their proposals side by side, and tell you which of them specifically excludes the activity you carry out. In Belgium six insurers currently accept the drone risk. We approach all six, from our office in La Louvière, for operators across the country.
A mandate that comes from you
Anyone working for one insurer brings in that insurer's contracts. We work for you and set the insurers bidding against one another. The difference lies in the mandate, and it only becomes visible when an unusual risk has to be placed somewhere.
In practice: if an insurer excludes a use that matters to you, we say so and keep looking. Anyone working from a single catalogue cannot take that step.
We are paid out of the insurers' commissions, the classic model of Belgian broking, set within a legal framework. You pay no fee, and on request we give you the detail of that remuneration.
Assurances Cornet SRL is entered with the FSMA under number 0733 945 352. That entry is the condition for practising the profession, and it can be checked online.
The exclusions the six policies share
No insurer covers everything. The exclusions of every policy we have been through contain the same points: the mere disappearance of an aircraft, fully autonomous flight, dropping a load and spraying. Changing insurer solves none of that.
The differences lie elsewhere: the liability limit, the excess on the aircraft itself, what happens to the camera and the gimbal, and the territorial extent of the cover. Those items explain why two proposals that look alike on paper carry different premiums.
Our job is to show you those boundaries before you sign. The comparison puts them on the table line by line , cover by cover.
