Who processes your data

Which data we ask for, and what for

We ask only for what it takes to put together an insurance proposal. The quote form is cut to that measure: eighteen questions, where the previous one asked sixty-six.

What we do not ask for

We ask for no date of birth, no home address, no certificate of competency number and no criminal record. The old form asked about the remote pilot's convictions. That question has been removed: article 10 GDPR allows the processing of data on criminal convictions and offences only under the control of official authority, or where authorised by a provision offering appropriate safeguards.

Who has access

Your data is processed by the office. We pass it to the insurance undertakings we approach on your behalf, and only so far as drawing up the proposal requires. It is not sold, and it does not go to third parties for advertising purposes.

On opening, the website loads no outside service at all. What happens afterwards is set out on the cookies page: visitor measurement leaves only after your first action or after five seconds, and the search tool for the general conditions loads only on the page it is meant for. What you fill in on the quote form reaches neither of them. The detail is on the cookies page .

How long we keep it

A quote request that leads nowhere stays with us for three years, counted from the last contact, and is then deleted. Data attached to a policy actually taken out follows the retention periods that apply in the insurance sector.

Your rights

You have the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to object and the right to data portability. Those six rights are set out in articles 15 to 21 GDPR.

You may withdraw your consent to commercial information at any time. That changes nothing about the handling of your quote request, and nothing about what was already processed on the basis of that consent beforehand.

Legal framework

This processing falls under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, the General Data Protection Regulation. In Belgium it is supplemented by the Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.

Local storage

The quote form keeps what you have already filled in inside your browser's local storage, so that you can pick up a request you started. That data stays on your device, never reaches us, and you clear it from the form itself. See the cookies page.
